Keep up to date with the happenings of the Pyramid team!

12/10/07

As shown by this tbt* snapshot of Mitzi in front of Pyramid’s red wall at the Tampa Artist Emporium, the Team has been having a blast in the waning weeks of 2007.

Just after meeting with Jay Giroux to begin collaborative work for Dirty But Sophisticated 4 (the annual show slated for Feb. 2008), Mitzi was given an opportunity to curate Art After Dark with Starbucks at the Tampa Museum of Art.

Although this meant an even tighter schedule – pitted with deadlines for art projects, wedding shoots and other jobs – the offer was too good to pass up.

And Mitzi has proved well up to the task. She expanded the original concept of a modest show into a mammoth production, bringing together more than 60 local artists in all mediums, from glass sculpture to live painting to fire dancing.

Running one night only, Art After Dark: Inside/Out draws inspiration from psychedelia and surrealism. Some participating artists include Chad Cardoza, Terry Pipitone, Carolina Cleere, Anthony Zollo, P$YNNER, Doug Taylor, David Bailey (formerly of WMNF) and many others.

Bradley and local photographer Ryan Prado will spice up the Dec. 14 event with live, interactive fashion shoots.

Meanwhile, the team continues to work on their Dirty But Sophisticated project, incorporating Moroccan elements into an original narrative shoot. Stay tuned for sneak previews, coming Jan. 2008 in REAX Music Magazine.

Find out more about other Pyramid art shows HERE. Look for the Recent Productions image folder to get a look at the freshest crop of images the Team shoots. Updated regularly, do not expect to see these images, often sneak previews of big projects like for DBS4, remain available for long.

Pyramid's own art star – Mitzi was caught by a tbt* photographer at the Tampa Artist Emporium while on her way to hang work for an October show.
Action photographer - Mitzi dives out of the way of a trolly to get that perfect light on Shanna for Pyramid's forthcoming narrative project. The man in the hat wants to know what's going on.
The Pyramid Team don't need no stinking city permits to shoot on location! Early December 2007.
